You can adjust volume and difficulty in the settings menu as well as the scene transition effect. The menu button will bring you to the in-game menu, where you can adjust your settings, get help on how to play the game, and exit the game. (Note: images in this walkthrough are captured through a custom game engine plugin hence you don’t see the cursor over the screenshot button.) Pressing the PrintScreen key does not work consistently. You can access those screenshots using the smartphone. You can take screenshots of the game by clicking on the screenshot button beside the menu button. View the manual in the smartphone for instructions on how to use it. Calling up the smartphone is not mandatory, as it will automatically appear when you need it. You can use the smartphone to manage pieces of information collected during the game or to view screenshots, cutscenes, and conversations. Similar items will be grouped together, and a number will display on the item how many you have and how many you need. Your items are held in the inventory bar at the bottom of the screen. If you need help on how to play the game, click on the “Help” button on the main menu or the pause menu.
You will have to wait a while before the button becomes available. To skip a minigame, click on the circular arrow button on the top right of the minigame window. The compass turns into the minigame instruction button when you are in a minigame. Hints need to recharge after being used, but are unlimited. Use the compass (hints) if you need help finding something. You might want to check out the video walkthrough as well. I'll try working something out with the moderators. I can't post pictures, so it may not be very useful for hidden object scenes. So here are the instructions for the first and most of the second chapter. I've emailed BFG about getting it on their blog, but they say it's only for walkthroughs written by staff.
